Katherine Lambert, President
Katherine J. Lambert is a member of MacDermid, Reynolds & Glissman, P.C. where she practices in all aspects of real estate law, including acquisition, development, construction, land use, conventional, securitized and subsidized mortgage lending and defeasance, property management, hotel licensing, condominiums, leasing, workouts, structuring joint ventures, limited liability companies, and tax deferred exchanges. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, she served for two years as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Konover Holdings, LLC. She has assisted entrepreneurial and institutional clients in the development, financing and leasing of regional power centers, hotel and shopping center portfolios, large office and residential towers and complexes, the contribution of properties into REITs, and in several complex, multi-state transactions. Ms. Lambert is also very active in charitable and professional organizations. She is presently a member of The Hartford Stage Company’s Board of Directors and is a Past President of The Real Estate Exchange, a former Member of the Executive Committee of the Real Estate Finance Association, a past National Delegate to the CREW Network, and a past Board Member of the Downtown Hartford YMCA.
Richard Liljedahl, Vice-President
Mr. Richard Liljedahl, CRE has over 25 years of experience in a wide spectrum of commercial and residential real estate applications. He has specialized in commercial real estate finance, acquisitions and dispositions. His experience includes President of Hayden, Tolzmann & Associates, a nationally known real estate Counseling firm; Vice President of Connecticut National Bank; Managing Director of Konover & Associates and Managing Director of Net Lease Capital Advisors. Mr. Liljedahl is currently a Lender with Simsbury Bank, a community bank based in Simsbury, CT.
Mr. Liljedahl is a graduate of The University of Connecticut school of Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate Finance. He was admitted as a member of The Real Estate Counselors (CRE) in 1985; was awarded the “Timothy Harwood” award by the Real Estate Finance Association in 2007. Mr. Liljedahl has been a frequent speaker at many programs such as the Mortgage Bankers Association, Real Estate Finance Association and Real Estate Exchange.
Mr. Liljedahl has been President of the Connecticut Chapter of The Real Estate Counselors; President of both the New England and Connecticut Chapters of The Real Estate Finance Association and was on the Board of the Real Estate Exchange. Presently, he is Treasurer of Capitol Towers, a 144 unit property (section 8-project based) property located in Hartford, CT.
Marie Mazzotta, Secretary/Treasurer
Marie Mazzotta is the president and Director of Property Management for Konover Residential Corporation and is directly responsible for all property management issues.
Ms. Mazzotta previously served as the Associate Director of Property Management for Arbor Management, LLC overseeing a portfolio of more than 3,000 residential units in thirty properties throughout New England and the Mid-West. With over twenty years of experience in the field of property management, she is extremely knowledgeable about both affordable and conventional market rate properties. Ms. Mazzotta is especially proficient with rehabilitating distressed properties, lease-ups, and management take-overs.
She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut, received the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation from BOMI, and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Connecticut. She is also COS and Rural Development 515 certified.
Lou B. Schatz, Director
Louis Schatz is a member of Shipman & Goodwin’s Management Committee. He is the immediate past Chair of the Tax Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. He also is the immediate past chair of Shipman & Goodwin’s Tax Practice Group. He practices in the areas of federal and State of Connecticut tax matters with attention to the representation of closely held businesses organized as limited liability companies, partnerships and S corporations; real estate joint ventures; and the representation of taxpayers involved in Connecticut tax controversies (at the audit, appellate and court levels). He is a frequent lecturer on federal and State of Connecticut tax, partnership and limited liability company issues. For many years he has been providing annual updates on Connecticut tax developments to out-of-state accountants. His recent lectures include presentations to the Connecticut Bar Association, the Connecticut Society of CPA’s, the Connecticut Business and Industry Association, the National Conference of CPA Practitioners, the Long Island Tax Practitioner Symposium, the National Business Institute, the University of Connecticut Income Tax School, and the Foundation for Accounting Education in New York City. Louis is widely published, including his co-authorship of “Connecticut Limited Liability Act: Forms and Practice Manual,” the leading treatise in Connecticut on limited liability companies.
Marc S. Sussman, Director
With 30 years of investment experience, the last 27 of which have been with UBS as a Financial Advisor, Marc’s primary areas of focus are consulting high net worth families, while providing solutions utilizing a variety of wealth management strategies. Additionally, Marc has extensive experience in real estate management and development, managing multi-tenant real estate, both residential and commercial, as well as experience with venture capital and philanthropic charities. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, he received a BS, with emphasis in Business Administration. Marc resides with his family in Simsbury, Connecticut.
